Field of Women - Breast Cancer Network Australia

On Friday 7 May 2010 the Melbourne Cricket Ground was host to 14,000 women wearing pink ponchos representing the number of women to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Women directly effected by breast cancer and their supportes turned up on mass to form The Pink Lady in the center of the MCG. It was a powerful reminder of the extent to which breast cancer effects so many Australians.

The Field of Women live was a curtain raiser to the AFL football match between Melbourne Demons and Western Bulldogs.

Breast Cancer Network Australia is the peak national organisation for Australians affected by breast cancer comprising a network of over 42,000 individual members. BCNA works to ensure that women diagnosed with breast cancer and their families receive the very best information, treatment, care and support possible, no matter who they are or where they live. BCNA is represented by the Pink Lady silhouette, symbolic of their focus on the women diagnosed with breast cancer and all those around her.

Ice Skating Victoria - Combined Clubs Challenge

The Icehouse was the stage for the Ice Skating Victoria Combined Clubs Challenge. The Icehouse is the new Winter Olympic facility that recently opened in Melbourne's Docklands and this was the first figure skating competition hosted at this premier facility.
